Many people are looking for ways to earn the money they need, while also improving the quality of their lives. Whether they want to spend more time with their family, have greater flexibility with their time, or just want to make a little extra cash. Having a home based business is the quick and modern way for people to generate additional income, or even leave the "traditional" business world behind!

Most of people are turning to the internet to find the perfect home based opportunity for themselves. There are several factors that you need to consider before jumping into any home business idea.

*What type of business will have?
You might think this is an easy question to answer, but you'd be wrong. It's shockingly difficult to decide on what you really want to do. Lots of people keep trying different things, often times more than on thing at once, and never really succeed at any of them. It's better to take the time at the beginning to really thing of what you want to do. Building a business takes time and work.

*Cost
Unfortunately, costs have to always be one of your top considerations. The amount of money your willing to invest is completely up to you. However, it's important to remember that whatever you spend is an invest in your business. You do want to make sure you don't invest more than you can afford to, and that you have a plan to recover within a certain amount of time.

*Research
Once you've decided on the business opportunity that you want to pursue it's time to research it! What to sell all of those blankets, ornaments, and other crafty stuff you make? Research it! What to become a content writer, do data entry, or transcription? Research it! Look at what you will need to for training, sites that you will host your business on, how you'll market yourself or your products, etc. There is a lot to learn! Doing your research at the beginning can really be a big boost to your future success.

*Pick the name of your business
Picking the right name for your business is essential! You want something that is catchy and grab people's attention, but if you're like me, you also want something easy that you like! It took me a few different tries before I settled on "Julie's Home Parties" for this blog. Don't be afraid to try out different ones as you develop your brand and business.

*Set up your office space
Having a space where you can work without getting interrupted is by far the best you can ever do for yourself when starting your home business. Ideally, this is a separate room with a door you can close and hang a "do not disturb" sign on with your hours. If not, find a little space to set up that you can call your own during "business hours". It could be your kitchen table while the kids are at school or your couch after everyone has gone to bed. Whatever you choose make it yours. Set it up to best suit your needs and hours.

*Get organized
Organization is the heart and soul of a successful business! You want to find a nice planner and start filling it in. Make lists, schedule tasks and goals. Set up reminders on your phone or laptop. Print out invoices and file them the old fashion way if that's what you want to do. If you do this faithfully everyday then you'll create the habit of checking your calendar and keeping yourself on track to meet your goals.

If you keep these factors in mind when starting your business you can be successful! Staring your own home business can be extremely challenging, but also very rewarding. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, just make sure you learn from them!

Want to give direct sales a try? Check out one of the best candle companies around! Join my Country Scents Candles team today!

Recently I decided to join #CountryScent Candles as an independent consultant. They offer candles, wax tarts, and more all for pretty reasonable prices. With any company I join I always try to get a few of their products to try before I really start trying to sell it. So I ordered a set of the Country Apple and the Rose Bouquet tarts to check out.

I've got the Country Apple one going in the warmer right now and it smells absolutely AMAZING! It took just a few minutes for the scent to fill the living room without the ceiling fan on. I just turned the fan on and the scent immediately hit me. It's delicious! Makes me want to bake a pie :)

So far I haven't tried the Rose Bouquet in the warmer yet, but it does smell very nice in the little package. Not overly perfumey either. I really don't care for any scent that smells like the perfume department at a boutique, so I'm hoping that once they melt they won't have a strong perfume scent. Just the nice, summer smell of roses.

I ordered on my tarts late last Thursday night and arrived in my mail Monday afternoon. The shipping through Country Scents is a bit higher than some other companies, but I know they are working on new shipping contracts to lower that.

Country Scents is based out Kentucky and they hand-pour all of their candles and wax tarts. They are made with 100% American grown soy products, have lead free cotton wicks, and they don't use any chemical dyes. The candles come in 16 oz or 8 oz mason jars with lids. After the candle is gone you can easily reuse the mason jars!

Soy candles have a higher melting temperature allowing them to last 30-50% longer than paraffin or petroleum candles. Soy doesn't emit toxins either so its less likely to trigger any allergies that you may have. It is also naturally biodegradable and water soluble which makes cleaning up any spills easy.

Overall, I am extremely pleased with the wax tarts I received. I plan on purchasing a kit soon and I truly need one of the scented bears in my life! They are just too cute :)

Prices are as follows:
16 oz. candle: $17.00
8 oz. candle: $10.00
Wax Tarts: $5.00
Aroma Beads: $11.00
Scented Bears: $15.00
Warmers: $8.94 - $24.00

Taking a bath is one of the most relaxing and rewarding parts of my day :) I love being able to just soak and let all the tension and stress just melt away. Adding a nice bath bomb can make it even more enjoyable. These little fuzzy bombs can help to soften and rejuvenate your skin while helping to relax even more! Quality bath bombs usually cost at least $5 each. For people that use a lot of them the costs can quickly add up. Luckily they are very easy to make for a fraction of the cost.

Ingredients:
8 oz baking soda
4 oz citric acid
4 oz corn starch
4 oz salt
3/4 tablespoon water
2 teaspoon fragrance or essential oil
2.5 tablespoon vegetable oil
1-2 drops food coloring

Directions:
Blend the baking soda, citric acid, corn starch and salt together in a glass bowl. Be careful to blend these together well for a fair and smooth bath bomb.

In a separate jar or small bowl mix the water, fragrance or essential oil, veg. oil and food coloring.

Slowly add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture, and quickly whisk the liquid into the dry mix. If foams start to form you are adding the liquid too fast. Slow down how fast you are adding the liquid to avoid any foams forming. After all of the liquid has been whisked with the dry ingredients the mixture will be a slightly damp consistency.

You can mold the damp mixture into any shape that you want. Any type of hollow container will work. This could be empty Christmas ornaments, muffin tins, candy molds, or specifically made bath bombs molds.

Next you need to unmold the bombs and let them dry. Be careful when unmolding them so that they don't break. Allow the bath bombs to dry completely and store in an airtight container. Keep away from high humidity since that may activate them.

Play around with different essential oils to find the perfect blend for you!
