When we're busy building our own direct sales business it's possible to forget that you need to work on building your downline too. A healthy relationship with your sales team will help all of you succeed together.  Here are 7 tips that can help you build a strong downline while also growing your business every day.

Get Personal With Your Team:  Your downline wants to know you. They want to see you working to build your business, and see you reach your goals. Communicate with them regularly, send out a newsletter, offer sales tips, monthly numbers, prizes for reaching goals, are all great ways to stay in contact while motivating your team. Another good tip is to create a fb group, forum, or other chat for your team. This will allow everyone to share ideas and support with each other.

Be Available: Make sure your team knows how to reach you and let them know it's ok to email, message or call. It's very common for people to think they are bothering you, but if you make it clear that they won't be bothering and that you welcome the communication. It helps to put everyone at ease.

Reward Your Tearm: Give prizes to your team members to reward them for all their hard work. Maybe a gift for the person that has the highest sales, or gets the most new recruits. You can also hold contests, such as one entry for each party held, or for reaching different goals.

Educate Your Team: As you learn and grow your business share that knowledge with your team. This is an essential part of the success of your team. The better trained they are, the more they will be able to recruit new members and continue to grow your downline. When they get new people make sure that you are reaching out to them as well. Invite them to your training meetings, new product announces, team groups, chats, etc.

Promote Your Business: Many people tend to focus on sales and recruiting. By solely focusing on simply promoting your business you can branch out into new ways that you might not have considered before. This might be handing out fliers, going door to door, mailing postcards, handing out samples or participating in local vendor events. All of these are great ways to get your business in front of potential customers and recruits.

Write Articles: Article marketing is a fantastic way to get free traffic to your website. By  writing five articles a month that link to your website and submitting them to various article directories you will notice a rise in the traffic to your site. The more articles you write, the more traffic you'll get. This will also help your site rise in the Google search results as well making it even easier to reach potential customers and recruits.

Don't Stop!: Sometimes it seems that no matter what you do everyone says no. Look at what type of promoting your doing and make small changes. Reach out to others in your business area and ask them for ideas and tips that they've used to be successful. It takes time to build a business, but you can do it if you keep trying hard and reaching for the stars!
